GMAC released its 2010 Application Trends survey earlier this week. 665 graduate business programs at 327 business schools from 39 countries around the world responded to the survey. Major findings include:

  • 59% of EMBA programs saw an increase in application volume. It was the first increase reported in three years, and the highest increase among other MBA programs.
  • More students applied to full-time one-year MBA programs this year than last; however, the rate of increase was less this year than it was last year.
  • More than 60% of MA programs in management, finance, and accounting reported application increases, most of which were 20% higher than last year's benchmarks.
  • The average age of a full-time MBA program applicant in 2010 was 26 to 30 years old.
  • A typical full-time applicant had three to six years of work experience.
  • Two in five applicants to part-time MBA programs were women.
  • 54% of EMBA candidates for 2010 were 35 years old or older and 61% had 10 years or more of work experience.
