Admissionado 0

Each week, we sit down and get to know one of our MBA Consultants.

Bolong-LiNot to brag, but we have an amazing team of people, and there’s more to them than just their top school pedigree or their devilish good looks. When you’re choosing an MBA consultant, you don’t just want someone in your industry or who went to your dream school. You need an MBA consultant who will be able to work with you, connect with you, and push you to be your best… and that’s not the same person for everyone. Some people need an empathetic touch; others need a drill sergeant. That’s why we think it’s so important for you to get to know our guys before you get to work.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Admissionado MBA Consultant Bolong Li.

So Bolong, where are you living these days?
NYC

And your degree is from…
NYU. I have a masters in Financial Engineering from the Polytechnic School./em>

Why did you go for an MBA?
I chose to further my study after college because I wanted to broaden my horizons. My major was finance so I wanted to go to the capital of finance, New York, to see what financial professionals were doing there. But also, I hoped to find out what I wanted to do as a career. NYU was a great platform for me because I got many networking opportunities, and the chance to work for some really big firms. By obtaining more experience I figured out that I enjoy talking to people and wokring in more of a strategy role. And that knowledge led me to my current career, focusing on the business side instead of the financial analysis side of things.

What’s your all-time favorite memory from business school?
Recruiting season, for sure. NYU’s career service center is awesome, and each year there are many companies that come to campus to recruit. I interviewed more than 20 companies in two months. It was great learning experience and, of course, where I got my job.

What do you like most about being an MBA consultant?
I enjoy talking to people. I also like to build something from scratch and see the results coming up later. Admission is a great journey for anyone because you will build everything from the very beginning. I feel glad to be part of the journey and help people to go through difficulties, challenges and get to results.

What’s the COOLEST place you’ve ever been?
I’d say Tibet. The place is different in so many levels. Landscape is different, people are different, and the lifestyle’s different. I felt very close to the sky and to nature… which made it very hard to breathe, for sure :) All in all, it was very cool to experience something so different.

What’s your most embarassing moment from school?
One of my professors had a very complex last name and I spelled it wrong in all emails to him. I didn’t realize it until the end of the semester…

Tell us something surprising about you.
My favorite singer is Justin Bieber! Just kidding. I’ve been playing saxophone for 15 years and I made my first income from playing it.
