10 Days to go !!! SoS .......... [#permalink] New post 05 Dec 2009, 10:55
Hi I have ten days to go before my actual gmat...

I normally score a 48 i quant. What do I do to push my score to 50? I think it is more of a case of timing than content. Can you please give me tips how to manage time... I normally have around 4-5 questions left before time is just about to get over , hence I just click randomly...

Urgent help required !!!

Thanks

Well for time management, you would need to average 2min/question.
From my experience in taking practice tests (GMAT prep and MGMAT), I found that I am in that same boat. I have averaged 45+ in Q.
Do you think it matters that much to the overall score if you push your score beyond 50 in Q (from the current 48 level)?
I think it may be much better to spend more time on the first 75% questions so that the CAT feeds you 700+ level questions at a consistent rate. At that point, the point score would not get hurt much even if one were to guess for the last 25% questions.

I got Q 48 in actual GMAT and I finsihed 35 questions in 60 mins, I had 15 mins for last 2 questions, I guess , thats bad time management tooo..

But I think if I had scored Q50, with my V32, I wud've probably got around 670-680.. not sure though..

Try to take 1.5 min for each question after the first 10 questions, even if you finish is quickly, double triple check the answers, I may have made some simple mistakes... Nothing seemed unsolvable for me, I was in comfort zone with every question... Only thing my mind was pushing me so I wont get stuck with one single question...

All the best,.... Quant is definitely at GMATPrep and OG12 level definitely not beyond... Verbal was a different story for me...
