10 kids in a class.the highest grade was 96.the median grade was 86.if john scored 1.2sd below the median, what was his score.

IMO, this problem is not solvable with the infomation given. We need to be given the SD (ETS doesn't expect anyone to compute an SD, and there is not nearly enough information to compute it anyway).
