2 + 2 Programs? [#permalink] New post 13 Dec 2012, 23:39
Hi guys,

I'm a first year Master of Science student in a two year program. I am interested in pursuing a career in business upon graduating. Although I am not yet in a position to attend business schools, there are some b-schools that offer a deferred admission program allowing you to get 2 years of work experience and then going to b-school for 2 years, e.g. Harvard's 2 + 2 program.

Are there any other programs that are similar to this? Or in general, anything that any American b-school has to offer to students who have not yet begun their careers?

Thanks a lot!

I think HBS 2+2 program is very unique, never heard of any other school that offers something similar. The majority of MBA programs require some WE before applying.

I believe Yale SOM also offers something similar called the Yale Silver Scholars program, but I'm pretty sure you need to apply to both of these programs as a senior during your undergraduate studies. I don't believe you can enter the working world (or an MS program) and then apply to any of the '2+2' type programs.

I agree, most of these programs (e.g. Kellogg's MMM) are designed for the Juniors/Seniors in college that would secure your admission before graduating from the undergrad.

You will have to apply the usual route I believe, though you are always welcome to check with admissions. They are quite swamped (and out drinking) right now, but usually fairly responsive and good when they are not replying to the tedious (when-will-I-hear-from-you and will-I-get in type of questions).

Thanks!
