Hello Paidlukkha,
As a member of the CrackVerbal Academics Team and as someone who has trained 100s of students for the GMAT over the past 6 years, let me put forward my perspective on how this workshop will aid you in your GMAT prep.
1. As we all know, GMAT does NOT test your proficiency in Math or English. What’s more important than learning concepts on the GMAT is learning how to apply those concepts onto Questions. There are umpteen sources to learn the concepts from, but the problem with these sources is that they give too much theory sometimes. Nevertheless, application of these strategies cannot be learnt from any text book. That is where the GMAT workshop will come into picture because the workshop doesn’t teach you concepts but it teaches you HOW to apply these concepts onto questions.
2. From the above point we understand that the workshop is more interaction driven i.e both by the trainer and the students. Hence the interaction becomes an important factor. The trainer is therefore a vital aspect of such a session. Our trainer here is Mr.Pradyot Anand, who has 760 on the GMAT and is an alumnus of ISB Hyderabad. So you can expect teaching from experience and not from books or slides.
3. The third most important aspect is about the amount of time that you can invest in this. Most GMAT aspirants have hectic work schedules and therefore find it a little difficult to spend time for preparation. They would prefer flexibility in preparation; Flexibility w.r.t Time spent, Number of questions and the like. For such students, the work-shop would be a good option because all they need to spend is one weekend entirely. Once this is done, they could plan their preparation as per their schedule.
4. The final point to be considered is the application deadlines. Most first round application deadlines are around the October to December bracket and hence taking a full length course might not really be feasible at this point of time. The workshop is a good option for such candidates.
From the link below, you could read about how Sreejith, a self-prep student, attended the workshop and saw awesome score improvements.
