They paid damages for the test driving, not for cars or having cars.

looks like D, "their" clearly refers to the cars.

but A. sounds really good too. something bothers me with the phrase "having test-driven".

Think it's C.

I was gonna choose D, but doesn't that sentence imply that the auto manufacturer was doing the test driving?

for "cars that were testdriven"

I have a basic grammer question:
Can "that " be used for plural?
I mean do we need "those"? instead of that in the original sentence?

Cars "those" were driven....
if that is the case then A is wrong and I will go with D
any input?
