250 word count for Haas [#permalink]
17 Sep 2011, 15:11
How are people coping with the word count for Haas? 250 words is too little - I feel my voice and more importantly my passion is lost when I cut a 500 word essay down to 250 words.

3000+ views and no reply Come on guys lend me a hand here. I'm not sure what I should focus on - the thought process or the sequence of events. Its nearly impossible to fit both in 250 words.

Is it really that difficult? Should be fairly easy to achieve. Just be concise. No fluff.

One essential skill in for success is to be able to make your arguement is a concise manner. Just image if you were writing an e-mail to the CEO or doing an executive summary, you need to know what to leave out and what to keep in. The essay is a good exercise for that.

Thanks! I've cut most of the fluff out and I'm within 8-10% of the word count.

Unless Haas changed their app from last year there's no way around it--the boxes will not let you enter more words than the limit allows. As asimov said, it's all about making your point concisely. Everyone else is dealing with the same limit, so it'll be a matter of how effectively you use those 250 words.
