3 weeks left- need help formulating the final push!!! [#permalink] New post 05 Mar 2010, 22:35
Hi folks-

Today I took a GMATPrep exam and did a 590 (36Q/35V). My score has crawled up from a 510 (no knowledge of anything) on 12 January to a 540 (some general studying) on 4 February. I had about three weeks off due to travel in February, and was pleased to see I had retained the math. This is the first time the Q has exceeded the V, although they are always within two points of each other.

I am only applying to R3 of one program for 2010 entry- due 1 April. I need about a 680 for the program. Im planning on scheduling the GMAT for as late as possible. (I have my reasons). Ive got one shot, and I want to make it count.

Strategy up to now has been studying OG12 and working problems in a timed fashion. I track my errors, work through problems that I miss, and have noticed my confidence and speed increase with the math. Verbal could definitely be better, but Ive narrowed down where Im having difficulty, and should be able to raise that score. Errors on this last practice exam were due more to simple mistakes than not knowing how to work the problem, and I usually finish with time remaining in both sections- I need to slow my math timing down to make sure I quit falling into stupid mistakes.

I have "unlimited" time, but limited funds. I dont want to spend a ton of cash in the last few weeks, but I would like some more challenging math problems to work to cover bases so Im not thrown for a loop on the real thing. I feel confident I can raise the verbal just working on OG12, but its math Im concerned about.

What would be the best source for 600-700 level questions to work? Would buying a few GMAT Club Tests be good? Or would MGMAT tests be better?
