HI everyone.
I have met today very interesting question, Can you help me to crack it.
OA
[Reveal] Spoiler:
D

A study by the Ocean Wildlife Campaign urged states to undertake a number of remedies to
reverse a decline in the shark population, which includes the establishment of size limits for
shark catches, closing
state waters for shark fishing during pupping season, and requiring
commercial fishers to have federal shark permits.

A. which includes the establishment of size limits for shark catches, closing (which constraction is problematic for this sentence)
B. which includes establishing limits to the size of sharks that can be caught, closing
C. which include the establishment of size limits for shark catches, the closing of
D. including establishing size limits for shark catches, closing (including establishing - is it ok?)
E. including the establishing of limits to the size of sharks that are caught, the closing of

ABC are out, but how to choose between D and E?
closing of vs. closing?

category : Parallelism,Participle form
Separating the verbs : establishing ...closing....requiring... all 3 in parallel.
leaves options B and D.

B: Includes should be include (plural).
So D prevails. IMO D.

However,I want to know two things :
1.the exact reason behind using the present participle form of include.
2.Had the option B been which include ......,then how to choose between B and D.

Thank you

"which" here refers to the shark population and not to the remedies .. So A, b, C are gone.

Out of D and E, We need a verb(establishing) after "including" and not a noun "the establishing".
Similarly for "cloing".
