Hello,
My background includes 14 years working in a small electro-mechanical manufacturing business as an Engineer, 8 years as a Manager of 10 employees. I obtained my BS in Electrical Engineering from UW-Madison in 1995.
My primary interest in Grad School is sustainability and small business/entrepreneurship. I grew up spending my summers in Germany/Europe & also have a strong interest in other cultures/International business. My goal is to start a small Green Consulting Business or create a new product with other experienced people in their 30's.
I spent the past year in the Bay area learning about anything & everything Sustainable. I learned about the Sustainable/Green MBA F/T programs at the traditional schools-Berkeley, Stanford, UC-Davis, SFSU, etc. but the average age is below 30 yo & seem to attract Corporate people. I also explored the non-traditional programs such as Presidio, Dominica & Bainbridge.
What are the pros & cons to traditional vs. non-traditional Sustainable MBA?
What about my age 38 yo? I am not interested in an EMBA in Sustainability.
P/T is an option while working P/T.
My other issue is I have great work experience-14 years Engineer, Manager but my BS-EE GPA is a 2.7 from UW-Madison. How would this affect my chances at a P/T Berkeley, Stanford, UC-Davis (told me the average GPA for incoming engineers is a 2.8)? No GMAT yet.
Thank you,
Kervin Krause
