3rd attempt GAMT but no improvement [#permalink] New post 09 Jul 2005, 18:12
I attempted GAMT 3 time within 1 year but I don't have any improvement. I worked hard in last 2 months. I practised all question in OG. I really unhappy of the result. Actually, I want to give up GMAT. However, My family and friends encourage me.

I don't expect to get 600-700 marks in GMAT. I just want to get an 400-500 marks. (This is my target)

I use following resources:
1.OG
2.Kaplan

Anyone have any suggestion to me.

So you are saying you had 3 attempts and you scored in 300's?

Tell us more about your scores, weak areas, knowledge of English language, and so on.

The more you tell, the higher is the chance than someone here will have a good advice for you.

I felt shame at having low mark in the GMAT- 310,300 & 310.
When I took the GMAT, I felt the first 7 question Qunatitive section were difficult. I was so nervous. I was afarid I could not finish all 37 quastions. So, I almost guess those difficult questions at the beginning.

I don't expect to get high mark in verbal section. In the last two month, I practised all SC in OG. However, no improvement.

Maybe my previous study plan were a mess. I don't know to have a new study plan.

Don't worry about your scores, because nobody really cares what you got. At least I don't.

Did you by any chance take TOEFL?

I suspect that your problems lie in your knowledge of English. First you need to learn grammar and be able to read fast and have good vocabulary. So you might want to give it some time before you attempt GMAT again.

Meanwhile, practice math. Participate in this forum.

If you do this, you will be able to get to 600's by next year. Few months isn't enough.

Sparky,

Thanks for you suggestion.
I didn't take TOFEL. Do you recommend me to take it.

If you aren't a native English speaker you'll need TOEFL to enter schools.

When I mentioned TOEFL I thought maybe you took it so you know your english abilities.
