5/9 part of the population in a Town are males. If 30% of the males are married, the percentage of unmarried females in the total population is:

Let the total population be 27 (9*3)
No. of males = 15
No. of married males = 5
So, No. of married females = 5. (Assuming none of the married men are polygamous or homosexual..
. I do not think the question can be solved without this assumption)
No. of unmarried females = 27 - 20 = 7
Percentage of unmarried females = 7/27 which is slightly higher than 25%.
So, answer should approximately B.
