600 to 690 but still a struggle [#permalink] New post 27 Apr 2011, 08:35
GMAT was first test of any kind that I appeared on after 10 years of my graduation. First attempt was made after doing a month of preparation. Scored poor 600 (Q 49, V 27). 2nd attempt after 3 more months of preparation was canceled because I got sick. Again attempted after a month, a mandatory gap by GMAC. Scored 690 (Q 49, V 34). I realized I have fear of standardized test.
The struggle continues as my low GPA is not offset by my current GMAT.
Thinking of reappearing on GMAT.

If you were shooting for 700, 690 is not too bad, I would use that score, as BB and other experts on this forum say, gmat is just one part of the app package, your essays could pick the buck or good job exp may give you the edge. It depends on your particular case, think b4 reappearing for the test.

Got it. I would say I would not push for a higher score but if you have a terrible GPA, then perhaps. (Try searching the site about low GPA if you have not done so yet).
