Hello,

Please provide your inputs on my profile and what are the chances of getting into Top European business schools.

Below is my profile:
-Indian
-Female
-Bachelor of Engineering (Electronics and communication) in a regional university.
-GPA is 3.3(on 4 scale)
-I am currently working in IT industry since 3.5 years in Oracle ERP as technical consultant.
-I want to do a MBA in "Supply chain and logistics" or "Operations and Strategy" at a european business school as many provide 1-1.5 year programs
-My GMAT score is 610(V28 Q47 AWA4.5).
-planning for APICS module 1 certification in basics of supply chain and to learn a foreign language.
-Yet to give TOEFL

Please suggest Do I need to take GMAT again.
Also please suggest in what ways I can imporove my resume to increase the chances of getting into a Top program.

Certainly one strength is that you are female--since far fewer females apply to b-school especially in Europe vs males, you can leverage this as a diversity play. On the other hand, you hail from a very deep applicant pool (Indian, IT, non-top tier undergrad), which presents challenges in standing out. I would recommend a higher GMAT score if you can get one, since this is generally expected from your applicant pool. Be thinking about how you stand out amongst applicants with a similar background (culturally and professionally) and why you would be a better choice. your GMAT and academics are good, but if you want to get into a "top school," you will need to post "top credentials," and right now the risk is that you will be perceived as average. Aim for a 109+ on the TOEFL as well to assuage concerns about communication skills. Hope this helps.

Hello..

Thanks for the inputs. They really help. The seed of retaking the gmat is already in place. :) But at the same time want to know for which European MBA programs (supply chain logistics or Operations) I can apply with current GMAT score of 610?

Have you looked into IE or IESE? Those might be good choices.
