I took the GMAT for the second time today and scored a pathetic 26 in verbal and a decent 50 in math.
I scored 630 in my first attempt(q47 v 30)...i would like to know whether it is sensible to retake the test again as I am not sure whether i would be able to improve my verbal score...Also,i would like to know whether colleges look at sectional scores.....In my case would some colleges consider my math score and not write me off ? Although 26 seems horrible would it be okay if I display competence in essays and other things that are essential for admission in a reasonably decent college??
The most frustrating part was that I was scoring consistently well on Kaplan
's mock tests..these were my scores in my 9 kaptests
CAT 1:650-(Math-68,vaerbal 89)
CAT3:710(math 99,verbal 64)
CAT4:670(math 84,verbal 69)
CAT5:690(math 84,verbal 78)
CAT6:720(math 88,verbal 97)
CAT7:710(math 94,verbal 89)
CAT8:720(math 88,verbal 97)
CAT9:660(math 75,verbal 78)
As you can see kaplan
tests are way off and induced false hopes that I would do well in the real exam as far as verbal is concerned.
