I applied Darden & Georgetown in R1 (I'll be applying to Emory & Kellogg in R2), have not heard anything yet. Just want to bounce something off you guys/gals. I scored a 640 my 2nd time, 600 my 1st time after scooting over 700 a few times on Kaplan's practice tests. I have a unique background in politics, but don't know if that makes up for my low GMAT score. Any one know of people in my similar situation who got in?

The middle 80% of accepted students at Darden have between 660 and 740. The average at Georgetown is slightly lower. What this means for you is that there will be extra pressure on your essays, work experience, leadership, some form of uniqueness, to justify accepting an applicant with a lower GMAT score. Politics is a rarer background than many who come from finance, consulting, or IT.

Kellog is obviously a great school as is Emory, so your challenge will be the same for R2. How do you feel about your essays?
