depressed about the score is an understatement.
this has been my lowest in english.
i dont know where i went wrong. while doing it i felt yeah, i am getting lot of it right...i was like good good.. waav, i cant believe i am doign so well in english... but when i saw the scoreeeeee.. it hurt.. like anything especially seeing the math score.. the overall score is such, that i dont know if i should give it again, or just reconsider my career options. i was leaving ms in financial engineering as an option till now.
Question is will this score be enough to do Ms in finance?
Last night I was visualizing that I would give a detailed report of my strategy, but looks like what good will it do to benefit others when my verbal score is so low................
I scored
PR1: 660 (M:49,V:33)
PR2: 700 (M:49,V:36)
Gmat Prep Test1: 660 (M:46,V:36)
Gmat Prep Test2: 720 (M:49,V:38)
Power prep1: 740 (M:47,V:44)
Gmat prep1 (reinstall) 720 (M:49,V:38)
Covered
OG page to page twice, covered princeton general, princeton verbal, princeton math, kaplan general, kaplan verbal, kaplan math, kap800,
mgmat (entire 7 series)
All I can say is Math, as long as you do Kap800, Kap Math workout,
MGMAT series, and
OG, and practice couple of gmatprep tests you are very very fine.................
I found the paper easy.. I just had to spend 2 seconds before I attempted the problem in analysing what it is asking.
Every DS problem I rewrote in equations.
I got a Probabilty, sequence, you name it every type of problem except parabolas.....
When I saw the probability question, I knew that I was doing well.. because in gmat prep 2 i got a probabilty question too............. rest of the gmat preps i did not get.. so i kind of had a feeling i was doing good in math..
but man oh man.. what a bummer the verbal section????
why i say gre history repeats>>> i got 2030/2400 in 1999. 800 in Anal, 800 in quant, and 430 in verbal
well i am down to the same boat now. I just cant seem to imprve my communication skills probably............ oh well god does not give everything to everyone.. you win some, you loose some..
So the question to the poll is..
1) What do I do? Retake it?
2) IS this score good enough for Californai Berkley where they have financial engineering program?
3) Is this score good enough of University of Chicago part time?
4) Can I get into ultra-elite schools with this gmat for full time mba?
(Undergrad from University of Melbourne, GPA 3.95, Ms in Computers Science, GPA: 4.0, 5 years work experience, got 3 promotions in 5 years.
Career Goal: Open a financial service back in India, and run it from USA. Joint venture with my brother. Also have dads steel business to run as a side.) I know I have lot of options back in India..
Anyone any advice.. i will appreciate it.. I will give a detailed analysis of what i did for math..
So near, yet so far. Thats all I can think of. This just keeps happening to me, MY ENGLISH GETS ME DOWN.
