My name is Bartek and I have just finished my GMAT exam. As I was preparing only 1 week for the exam, I have scored 670 points. I know that it is not a superb score but in other hand it is not so bad. I'm 21 years old, I'm from Poland and I am currently finishing my Bachelor degree (Quant. Economics) and I am also studying Law as the second degree.
Now I am working as a senior specialist (investment funds) at bank and reseach assistant (energy and environment) at embassy. Naturally, I have also experience in other companies and industries. I was also active in foundations associations and student organizations. Last year, I have also finished my exchange programme (in Norway).
Now I am considering applying for the best universities in USA (MIT etc.) or retaking the exam after the preparation or applying for European/Asian Master programmes. Naturally, the first choice is USA but I have no idea if I could be accepted with such a GMAT score.
Thanks for all the comments During this week of preparation:
I have made tests from official GMAT guide (free one) scoring in the first attempt 550 and in the last 700 (the highest one was 720). I have also skimmed through Manhattan books
(I looked mainly on the correct answers). I spend a total of 10-20 hours on preparations and I had a good sleep and breakfast before the exam. As I know that this amount of preparation would probably not lead me to the best score I was not stressed during the exam and during every break I have refreshed my face with a cold water.
I have finished exam about an hour before the deadline (around 30 minutes were left after finishing each part - Q&V) so this probably caused some mistakes that I have made during my GMAT exam. What was astonighing for me was the fact that I got better score from Verb than the Quant (during preparations it was opposite and actually I felt that I will easily nail Quantitative part and Verbal part will be a challenge for me during the real exam).
