Hello,

I just took the GMAT today and I would really appreciate to know what you guys think about my score and how it will be interpreted by the B-Schools I apply to.

Quant : 42 - 57 %
Verbal : 40 - 90 %
Total : 670 - 84%

I am quite satisfied with my verbal score but my quant score is really low. I've heard the Business Schools like well balanced scores so I consider retaking the test to improve my quantitative score. If I retake it, what is the score that I should target ? 48 ?

I consider applying for both masters in finance and masters in strategy & management. Do you think my quant score will undermine my application to a master in finance ? And do you think that recruiters are less exigent regarding the quant score if I apply to masters in management ?

I think we need to know what schools you are targeting in order to advise you. Without knowing that, I'd say that if you have time to prepare AND you think you can do better, then you should go ahead and retake it.

Thanks for your help.

I was hoping to apply to master's degree at LSE (accounting & finance + management & strategy), Bocconi (finance) and ESSEC ("grande école" program, 2/3 years).

What do you think ?

Unfortunately, I don't know too much about those schools. I would google the GMAT ranges for those schools and see if you're within the ranges.
