680 GMATPrep... fine tuning Quant Skills [#permalink] New post 31 Aug 2007, 20:47
Ok so I plan to take the test at the end of this month. Just got a 680 on my GMATPrep. Im pleased, but a lil dissappointed too.

How do you fine tune quant skills so as not to make really silly mistakes???

I crushed the verbal section all the way until the end where I was rushed for time.

I was crushing the Quant section and then for some reason at the last 8 problems I got 6 in a row WRONG, then the last one wrong (so 7 outta the last 8 wrong)... I missed a few before this, but I was doing extremely well for the most part.

I dunno what happened... I mustve gassed or something, all I know is that this killed my total score.

I am at the other end of the spectrum.

I got only one question wrong out of the first 21 questions in verbal. I got 14 wrong in the next 20. 9 out of the last ten wrong because I had only about 9 minutes to do the last 10. I was hopeless under pressure. I scored a meager V38 even after almost a month of practice. Really need to work on my timing.

All this when I wasnt even conscious about giving the first 20 extra consideration and time.

For MATH, I recommend NOVA book. I've fallen in love with this book. Not too difficult but not too basic like the princetons or kaplans. If you cant get it from the usual sites, you know what to do.
