Yeah I agree with the previous posts. Check a website called skoolix they have a search tool that also includes your competitiveness to show results of good matches... might be some help.

No one knows ! what school one is competitive

Try to read last year success stories( search for posts by members : rhyme, pelihu,lepium,johnnyx9,lhotseface , mark4124, gmat73 ) and you might get a feel of what admission process is all about!

The above members are a diverse bunch ( harvard admit to UW admit ) and have extensively documented their MBA app journey

cheers

I love skoolix...I only hope its accurate. It told me that nothing is a stretch which I find very hard to believe. There are so many factors and cant look at that its only so useful. I honestly think most of the schools I am applying to are stretches but thats what this is all about, you only need one to give you an admit.

Skoolix said I should apply to Unversity of Pheonix and a whole list of other schools I've never heard of.

:)

I'm in big trouble.

Skoolix told me that GSB, Wharton, Columbia and Stanford are my targets, man I hope their ad com do think either, hehehehehehhehehe!

The GMAT itself means nothing. I've heard of 640 getting in at Harvard with a extremely rare background. Last year a friend of mine with a 680 got in at Wharton, with a career somewhat normal, but with a successful family history. However for me a simply mortal the GMAT may distinguish myself from the crowd.

Everything depends on what is your competitors. As almost everyone here knows, the competitions Among Tech Indians is pretty tough, so you def need a very high GMAT if you're Indian and wok with Telecom or so. But if you're from the Bush family a 500 will pave your road to Harvard...

Honestly macha (that's how we say 'dude' in Tamil - a South Indian language), skoolix's results are very hard to digest. The only things taken into account are your age, GMAT and undergrad-GPA. We all know that the application is a lot more H.... Ok, I won't say it, but you all know the 'H-word' right?!?

Oh I know, it didn't actually bother me. I actually thought it was pretty funny.

so what do you know. I went to skoolix and apparently:
Yale, CMU-Tepper, Michigan-Ross, NYU and Duke are all strectch schools for me. Of all these, I applied to only Michigan and got in with 50% scholarship.

No mention whatsoever of any ultra-elites, not even as stretches...

Conclusion: take everything with a grain of salt.

It sounds derogatory but I think it is some thing like Tambram for "Tamil brahmin".

If we write "Telugu" in regional script and read it in reverse order, then it becomes 'gulte'
