Recommend you retake the GMAT for a 3rd time. If you can pull off a better split both ways, you might also come out with a 720-730 and better overall score as well.

Barring that, I have no idea how any particular school will view your different quant and verbal sub scores, and it's unlikely any other person on this forum will either.

Most top schools claim to only look at your highest overall GMAT score (not the highest in each section). If that is indeed the case, then they will see the sub 60%ile on the Quant, which is not good news for you. Your Verbal was already past the 80%ile, so my feeling is that the benefit from increasing your V score is going to be marginal.

I would second Ebonn's recommendation of taking the GMAT another time IF you have the time and IF you are pretty sure you can up your Quant percentile. Given that it's already late July, this is something you will need to think about.

Overall, I don't think a 700+ GMAT is ever going to be a huge drawback, regardless of the individual scores.

Thanks all. I think I'll contact the schools I'm interested in. Perhaps they'll shed further light on the process (assuming this has happened before to other applicants).
