Hello all,

Even though this is my first post in the group, I have been following the forums for couple of weeks now. I just wanted to share my experience with everyone else as this is the purpose of the forum.

I took the GMAT last year and scored a 660 (Q47, V34). I applied to couple TOP 10 universities hoping that my GPA and essays would help me to get in but it did not happen.

So, I took it again today for the second time and get the 700 score.

I studied for 3 weeks, and took the last Friday off from work. I worked 2 hours at evenings and 4-5 hours during weekend. I just studied little hard last Friday and stopped studying on Saturday (after taking the GMAT Prep and going over the incorrect answers) I peeked for half an hour to the Official Guide in the morning of the exam.

GMAT Prep I= 660 (1 week before the exam)
GMAT Prep II = 700. (2 days before the exam)

I had various books when I first started but just used the official guides after reading the forums and finding some mistakes on the books.

Official Guide (Orange)
Official Guide Quant (Green)

I am not planning to retake the exam because it is really exhausting and I think that I have a legitimate shot on the schools that I am planning on applying.

I believe that GMAT is behind me now and I will start focusing on the essays for the schools.

Good luck to all,

good luck tauslu, good work at staying with it, even when you didn't get accepted the first time around. I hope it pays off for you. What are some schools you are targeting?
