720 is a pretty high score for a 48(86%)/40(90%) split.

Anyway, a 48 is low compared with a 790 math on GRE.

But, the Princeton MFin program doesn't require a 790 math on GRE, that's just their students' average score.

I just got correspondence from Princeton. They strongly suggest that I retake the test. To quote :

"I'd retake the test since you are at the low end of acceptable scores--not a good place to be..."

Unbelievable !!! Still thinking about what I should do. Would appreciate any advice ...

If you're intent on MFin, why not take the GRE and concentrate on the math? The math is easier on GRE and don't think about the verbal section too much.

Hi,

I am new to this forum and new to the GMAT world. I have started preparing for GMAT last week and planning to give my exam after couple of months. bsd_lover i am taking your GMAT preparation write up as a good starting point. I also didnt know where to go and whom to ask questions but i guess in this forum will get most of my questions answered.

Thanks once again for sharing.

Best of luck Nido.

My score is almost a year old, but the concepts and strategies are still valid. I normally hang out in the verbal and the quant forums. Try to solve some interesting problems and engage in discussion over there.

mate, I was wandering where you been off to in the last few days, it seems that you have done the deed and the future is looking bright again! Dude, you forgot about the manhattan Qs! BTW, My exam is on the 29th so wish me luck!

Just wanted to say I am a bit surprised about you wanting to apply for that masters of finance in princeton, you could've easily applied for the likes of other competitive schools such as Wharton and HBS, and given that the competition pool for oceania is relatively "simpler" than anywhere else, why settle for princeton? Sidenote: I also heard that LBS is offering a masters in finance as well, and there's always worst case scenario: masters of finance from UNSW.

Anyways, good luck mate and its great to see you on the other side of the river. Hopefully I'll join you and the likes of other members here at the forum and start grundging out applications to schools in which I am starting to sense is probably another tiresome experience altogether.
