Hi everyone,
I have been lurking on this website for a while now and just wanted to thank you guys and also say how happy i am with my score. I actually first took the exam on June 8th and received a 670 (Q 47 and V 35), so this was a nice bump up in points.
Just to give you some clarification of how I studied prior to my first test in June:
I took the Kaplan prep course and took the 5 CATs.
Kap 1 : 580
Kap 2 : 600
Kap 3 : 540
Kap 4 : 580
Kap 5 : 560
I then took the powerprep tests:
Test 1 : 670
Test 2 : 730
Then I took the GMAT and scored a 670. I then refocused and realized that I needed to work on my Verbal score. I purchased the
Kaplan Verbal workbook and the PR verbal workbook. I also did all the
OG SC.
Thoughts on the test:
1. Math was pretty much identical to the
OG, nothing too hard but I think I may have made a few careless mistakes. The Kaplan 800 book gives some great tough math questions.
2. SC was just like the
OG. Nothing out of the ordinary there.
3. CR was kinda strange. I got 3 explanation questions and 1 bold face. Also, most of the CR questions were quantitative (i.e. per capita questions and ratio question)
4. I got back to back RC passages. One was ~ 85 lines and the other 35 lines. In total i got 2 science, one business and one social passage. Nothing too bad.
Just thanks again for all your posts.
