Hi everyone,
I am a college senior who took the GMAT last year and had to work overtime until 3am in the morning on the day of the GMAT test. My Quant and Verbal sections are pretty balanced, but the IR was not as high as I expected.
I am planning to apply to MBA 2-3 years down the road after my promotion. I will also be working towards my CFA soon.
As you can imagine CFA + GMAT is going to be a lot of studying and might significantly affect my social life. Just wondering what's your take on 720 versus 760+ (which I don't think I will have trouble getting).
While 760+ does not guarantee a spot at H/S/W, does it seem much more impressive, help with MBA recruiting, increase chances of acceptance, etc.?
Also, what is MBA scholarships/fellowships based on? GMAT, GPA, work exp? Will a higher GMAT help with landing a scholarship as well?
For those of you with questions on GPA, I have a good GPA, but not top 1% . Also, let's assume that the GPA is set in stone now since I am at my final year of UG.
Thank you all for your inputs,
You shouldn't worry about the IR, but since you are so early in your career and are targeting the top schools, it is a good idea to retake it. I work with applicants every year with 720 and below (even in the 600s) for HBS, but usually they have other things that help them stand out. With your targeted industry, you want to try to improve the score. Good luck!
Best,
Scott
