Add me to the list of 700+ GMATs who are retaking the test. I took the GMAT in 2006 and got a 720. I felt a little disappointed with my score (especially verbal). I started studying hardcore in October and here are my practice scores since then:

PR CAT - 690, 690 (October)
GMAT Prep - 760 (December)
Paper GMAT- 740, 750, 760, 770, 770, 780, 790 (January/Feb)

I've changed my study plan since last time and am concentrating on paper GMATs (mostly for verbal) and challenges. During the last 10 days of studying, I plan to do 5 Manhattan GMAT CATs and 4 GMAT Preps (with reloads). Until then, I'm going to do the remaining challenges (verbal and quant) and 2 paper tests. Also, here are my results from the challenges (kept to time limits on all of them).

m01 30 36 83.3% 1m 55s 11529 95.4%

The idea of doing a GMATPrep everyday is intriguing and I may consider it since I have about 30 days until my test date.

What do you mean by going GMATPrep everyday ? Are you going to take the GMAT prep test everyday ? Wont the questions start repeating then ?

swbluedevil, any particular reason why you haven't applied already. I think you have a solid shot at all your target schools, even with a 720.

Thanks ncprasad, but I owe another 2.5 years to the military, so I'll have to fulfill my military obligation before I get out of the service and go to biz school.

I have taken it 6 times already in the past month, 4 times in the past week

my score progression:

GMATPREP1 48M 42V 730
GMATPREP2 46M 44V 730
GMATPREP3 46M 42V 710
GMATPREP4 50M 37V 710
GMATPREP5 44M 48V 750
GMATPREP6 50M 42V 750

If I average my scores I should be expecting 47M 43V for around a 730. I'd take it !

As you can tell my numbers are across the board, at least with regard to Q/V breakdown.

I think there is less repeititon on the math than there is on the verbal and also it is easier to forget math problems. The SCs I always see at least 10 new ones in my opinion. More repetition among RCs and to some extent CRs.

Still, it is good practice in a testing environment on official questions.

Even if half is the same after a bunch of tries, you are still practicing on official questions you won't be able to find anywhere, besides searching this board, so I feel it is worth it. You will also be able to get your timing down. However if you do remember a question, solve it as if you were doing it for the first time.

Don't you hate how the GMATclub test percentages fluctuate so much? I've had anywhere from 100% to 51.7%, the latter really freaked me out.
I'm getting a 49q, 40v consistently on practice tests. I really need to raise both to his my target 750.

good luck!
