730 GMAT 3.6 GPA from top 50 undergrad business program. [#permalink] New post 06 Apr 2010, 09:45
Hello Everyone,

I was hoping I could get some feedback on my chances at my target schools.

GMAT: 730 (49Q 41V)
Undergrad: 3.58 GPA (3.8 Major) @ top 50 business program with Finance and Supply Chain Management double major with econ minor.
WE: Almost 2 years of Supply Chain management experience including inventory management / planning as well as logistics and export planning. No supervisory role.

I am interested in consulting as a career path, but am unsure if the i can handle the travel required, so I am also thinking about General Management. I am also interested in starting a business out of school given the right circumstances and partners.

I was hoping coming from a somewhat different field (Supply Chain) that it would help to differentiate myself from the pre-MBA consulting and finance applicants.

Target Schools: Columbia, Duke, Darden, UNC, Georgetown, Safety: Babson.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

A new work opportunity to build my resume came up, and I went with it. I am probably going to work a year or two more then apply then.

Best of luck! I think it was wise of you to work a couple more years because, frankly, with only 2 years of WE, it's going to be a steep hill for you to climb against those with 4 or 5 years of quality WE. As long as this new job provides you new insight and additional qualifications, you'll be fine. Your academic records are awesome, and personally speaking, I would move both UNC and Georgetown to safety and put Dartmouth Tuck on there.

Agree with bakfed, so many of the schools on your list will be safeties with your numbers. Take a few shots higher!

Good luck!
