Hi there, looking for a profile evaluation.

GMAT: 730 (49Q, 41V)
GPA: 3.3, Engineering, top 40 private university.

Work experience: 4 years (when starting program) in engineering role. There isn't really anyone under me and I haven't led any groups. That does concern me about my own profile, personally. That said, I've excelled ahead of my peers with promotions, etc. It's a highly technical job requiring an engineering degree, for what it's worth.

Other stuff. I'm involved in the community with BB/BS and I do coach a local youth running group. I'm also heavily involved in triathlons and other endurance sports.

I am looking to apply next year (not going to rush apps in this cycle).

I live in NC and would ideally go to UNC or Duke. Those are basically the two schools I'd want to go to (although I hate limiting myself). Hoping that with my profile I'd have a decent shot at at least one of them but I'm having problems figuring it out on my own!

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I do think that Duke and UNC would be interested in you, but I also think they are going to want to see evidence of you as a social leader. Since that doesn't seem possible in your work, I would encourage you to pursue extracurricular pursuits that are group-based to show that you have the social skills and charisma to potentially lead a company someday.
