Hi Folks,
I am done with my GMAT today. What a relief (phew)!!!!
History
There is not much to tell here. I started the preparation in November 05. Quant has always been strong so I wasn't worried there. Just had to make sure that I don't do silly (which I didn't).
SC was the weakest as usually is with the non-native students. This is the important part - I became active in this forum in last month. Since then I have seen a tremendous improvement in my SC skills (still can not compare it to the most people here but was enough for me to be confident in SC). Most Important - I have seen many people posting a question without doing a search on the same question on this forum or any other. Almost all the questions that I had doubt on were discussed on this forum and they all were torn apart by the likes of Paul.
RC depends a lot on on your reading skills. I used to read very fast but used to miss lot of essence (it was ok with the novels and cartoons) but with GMAT, I adjusted my speed to make as much sense as I can out of a para before even I tackle the questions.
If you are good as word puzzles, you will definetely do better on CR.
Exam Day
My exam was at 9:30. Reached the center at 9:00. Started the exam at around 9:15. The first one was AOA and was an easy one. I already had the template so I first wrote down the template and then filled in the blanks. I had 8 minutes left after the proof-reading so I spent some time to re-organize for AOI.
AOI again was easy and I had 5 mins left. I took the break and ate candy bar (it helps me keep my nerves under control, have tested this in the past also) and drank some gatorade.
Math was ok. I did not know how to answer one of the questions so I guessed and am still trying to figure out the solution. As per the rules, I don't think I can put the question here, can I?
I took the break again, finished the candy and drank some gatorade.
For Verbal, my plan was to take 25 mins for first 10 Qs and then 50 mins for remaining 31 Q's. Saved some time in the first 10 but lost lot of time in the middle ones. Overall 4 RCs. First 2 were easy, second was tough and last one was ultra tough. SCs were moderate. There were some tough SCs in the middle of the section. CRs were relatively easier but ended the section with 3 tough CRs. In last 4 mins, I had 5 question to answer and clicked ok for last question on 0:00 timer. I hope that it was counted.

Guys,
My suggestion is to make use of this forum to the maximum extent possible. I have used it for SC and CR and I have seen the difference. Yesterday night, the thought that crossed my mind was - Why didn't I come to this forum earlier?
