740 (98 %).....Yes, please save a spot for me. [#permalink]
06 Apr 2006, 23:40
A lot of rambling...most of it won't confirm to rules of Standard Written English Anyways, I am a non-native speaker..can always play that card ??
Where do I begin ?
Just finished the GMAT a few hours ago and am already on a high. A few drinks on an empty stomach helped as well....
740 ( 98%) Q49 (90%) , V42 (96%).
Let me thank......
My wife without whom this wouldn't have been possible. GMATClub members like you....all of you !
Special mention goes to people from whom I learned a lot and gained a lot of confidence. There are several members who by their good humor and cheer make the whole ordeal a lot more tolerable....
vivek, ywilfred, ps_dahiya, laxie, banerjee ( thanks for the sticky ! ), joemama, sperumba, honghu, paul, praetorian ( thanks for giving me access to the challenges ! ), ipc302, professor, GMATT73, allabout, shiboni, bhai ( where are u ? ), gamjatang, sunshine....this isn't a complete list...subject to lots of revisions as I remember names.
Day before the test ?
Unlike most people, I studied for 4-6 hours yesterday. I didn't solve any problems, just went through my notes.
Today ?
My exam was at 2 in the afternoon and I spend the morning listening to Mozart (calmed me down) and went for a nice brisk walk. The weather has been lousy over the last week. Today, it was sunny and the exercise helped clear my mind. I didn't exercise regularly since December and that was one thing I regretted most...
Test Details
AWA
- Fairly straight forward, used my templates, didn't try to pretend that I was the son of James Joyce....
Quant
- Tough...really tough. I have taken enough GMAT club challenges to know what is “toughâ€

Congrats Dude!!
Have u climbed the Lhotse?
Sidenote: For Everest South Side climb (the most popular and the first one to the summit) you climb up the Khumbhu icefall to the Lhotse face before you switch left to the Everest.

I haven't climbed any serious peaks...but have climbed quite a few peaks in the 14-16K feet range. I used to spend my summers in the Himalyas as a student trekking volunteer...everest base camp/Kala Pathar is one of the things that I plan to do within the next year or so...

Way to go lhotseface! You rocked the test. Congraats!
Thanks for the "picture" of your palm after the test. Now we know what to expect from the markers...
Good luck for your applications.

giddi77,
If possible, laminate a few sheets and get the staedtler lumocolor marker. It might be well worth it...

Congrats for your great score.
I wonder whether you from Nepal. btw, Nepal has 8 out of 10 tallest mountains in the world including Lhotse.
goodluck to you for your application process.

Lhotse (lot sAy) is the fourth highest mountain in the world at 27,939 feet. Its long east-west crest is located immediately south of Mount Everest.

Thanks, guys ! I call myself a wannabe mountaineer... .
Home is sunny California ! Have been a US resident for the past 7-8 years...
It's good that we guys are networking...one of the reasons that I want to attend B-School. Tired of playing the geek in the cubicle...I want to be out there !
