Hello Guys

I took my GMAT today and got 750. I really wanna thank the GMAT club for all the wonderful posts and especially the GMAT club test. These posts and tests really help me shape my required knowledge of the exams.

One thing which i found very useful on the forum is the result correlation between various tests and the final GMAT score. I think statistically, it definetely shows where you stand and give you an indication whether you are ready depending on your realistic expectations.

My resources: (Comments)

Kaplan (premier course, verbal, quants and 800) - a very good starting point and a must to do books but i am not sure whether enough to get you above 700.

MGMAT (All books except CR and RC): They are all wonderful books and an absolute necessity to get you confident about the exams. SC is truly a bible. Though, in my opinion, my real GMAT english was lot tougher (atleast it seemed to me) than any of the MGMAT papers. The idioms were quite new to me. Also, the RC were quite long and for some reason the questions being asked (along with choices) were sometimes as long as some passages. So i will suggest practice English a bit harder and look for as much resources as possible.
Powerscore: Only CR: absolutely recommended.

OG 11, OG verbal and OG maths: No doubt very recommended books.

3000 question bank. I did all 1000 SC, around 550 of CR and 40 passages of RC. Will recommend doing all if you can

GMAT club tests: all 25 quants and 6 verbal ques bank

Essays: For essays i will highly recommend the AWA GUIDE by Chineseburned (it can be found on GMAT club website). It was my only resource for essays and i am confident i will get around 5 atleast. (will update you if i get less).

I think everyone have his own style of studying and learning. So i dont think elaborating on each of the above books can help everyone in general. However, i have been benefited so much from this forum, that i feel obliged to answer any question that may help you in your preparation.

Thank you once again
you guys rock!

Congrats!!
How long did you prepare for? Full time employed? Took some time off? Prior academic experience? Gap between the prior academic experience and GMAT prep?

Just curious in all of these, you dont have to answer if you dont want to..

Sorry for the late reply. Ofcourse i can share my background and other info you asked for.

I am working for a big four as a manager in the audit practice. I am fully employed and have a fair share of long hours if you can imagine. I couldn't take any time off but i did kinda started to curtail my hours and tried to be back home by 7 PM. I studied for almost 3 to 3.5 months (approx 4 hours during weekdays and 7-8 hours during weekends).

There was a gap of around 6 years from the time i used to consider myself a student (the time i sat for chartered accountant exams). Although i did give my CPA and CFA level 1 after that but those exams didnt took me much time to study.

Let me know if i failed to answer any of your question or if there is anything you will like to know.

Once again, Congratulations on pulling off an awesome score admidst the enormous responsibilities.

I work for a consulting company (big 4) my self and finding time to study is really hard. Your story is certainly a great encouragement for me.

Good luck with your applications.

I did quants from Kaplan, OG , MGMAT and GMT club tests. I should mention here that i have been descent in maths from the beginning so i can't say much which book really helped. I must say that GMAT club tests helped me a lot in reducing my silly errors and taught me to consider all aspects of a question.
