alright..where do i start?

Quant: The quant section was very very interesting. I came across atleast 6-7 questions where the answer choice that looked most obviously correct was the wrong choice. I am not suggesting a Joe Bloggs technique here. I am simply stressing: READ the question properly. It's something very very basic but seriously hard to follow if the exam stress gets to you.

If you are a guy who's been getting consistently around 700 or thereabouts, take it for granted that ur potential is not going to drop overnight. The only way to lose marks is if you make mistakes. I cannot accept that a person who gets around 700 odd in practice tests such as GMATPREP can find any quant question that he cannot answer correctly. I prevented myself from making upto 9 mistakes simply because i bothered to recheck my logic behind the answer that i reached atleast twice per question.

Do not worry about the time limit. You will not run out of time. It is very essential that you get the difficult questions right( I ain't suggesting spending half an hour on a question either though). And the most "difficult" questions are the ones with the "answers" that seem most obvious or where we actually try to complicate the methodology. This is not something picked out of PR but simply what i have seen over the 9 odd tests that i have given(the actual GMAT included).

Verbal: Verbal was bit of a breeze. Paying attention on what is actually being asked is the single most effective tip i can offer. Obviously i must have made mistakes to get 45 but that score is still more than what i usually got.

Study recommendations:
Do all the questions in OG...period...
i also did all the questions in PR and Kaplan 800...
I STRONGLY recommend doing all the problems in the 1000sc file.
1000 CRs was a big help but i could not do all the questions in there. I honestly believe that you should not practise RCs beyond a certain limit. I know this is stating the obvious but the fact is that the RC answers are indeed given in the passage.

For reference purposes, here's how i did in the practice tests:

Princeton Review 1: 640(Q 45,V 33)
Princeton Review 2: 700(Q 48,V 39)
GMATPREP 1: 710*(Q 49,V 38).....i did not finish this test
Princeton Review 3: 720(Q 51,V 39)
Princeton Review 4: 690(Q 45,V 40)
ManhattanGMAT 1: 700(Q 47,V 39)
Kaptest: 700(Q 46,V 43)
GMATPREP 2: 740(Q 50,v 40)

Good luck to all...would be more than glad to help in any way...

Congrats, another huge score posted by a GMATClubber. Where do you plan on applying now that you've stomped the GMAT?

hey thanks...gave myself 3 months knowing that i would waste a lot of time....if you are going flat out, i guess 1.5-2 months should do it....the SC1000 is a word file consisting of 1000 sc questions..the explanations are not given, but it is still an absolute must-do in my opinion.....i am attaching it herewith...good luck...
