I'll give detail later for now just wanted to share how depressed and confused I am. When you see my practice scores, you'll understand the shock....I'm even considering giving up on the MBA dream now
UPDATE:
Here's my practice test history for the past 2 months in chronological order:
My GMATPrep tests were re-takes with an average of 12-20 repeats total. The first time I took the two tests I scored 740 on each.
The PowerPrep (PP) and Manhatta (
MGMAT) were all first time takes.
GMP2: 730 (Q49, V41)
GMP1: 740 (Q49, V42)
GMP1: 700 (Q50, V35) - not sure what went wrong with V since the number of mistakes was same as with 41+ scores
GMP2: 770 (Q50, V45)
MGMAT1: 700 (Q48, V37)
GMP1: 760 (Q50, V42)
MGMAT2: 700 (Q45, V40)
PP1: 750 (Q49, V44)
GMP2: 760 (Q49, V45)
MGMAT3: 730 (Q48, V41)
GMP1: 770 (Q50, V46)
MGMAT4: 700 (Q49, V36)
MGMAT5: 730 (Q48, V41)
GMP2: 760 (Q51, V41)
PP2: 730 (Q49, V40)
GMP1: 790 (Q51, V48)
MGMAT6: 780 (Q51, V45)
In addition the day before the real test day I took.
OG11 Diag. Test: Q - 3 mistakes total in 95 min (out of 48 questions), V - 8 mistakes total in 95 min (out of 52 questions)
I had taken the
OG Diag only once back in December and did not remember any of the questions.
Real GMAT 730 (Q49, V41), which is exactly the same thing I got a little over 2 months ago when I all I used to prepare was crappy Kaplan and PR and a little bit of
OG.
In addition, I was using Walkers 1000 SC and CR with lately 90-92% hit rate on SC and 80-85% hit rate on CR.
Yes, I was super nervous on test day. In fact, a lot more nervous than the first time. Just can't understand why. The essays went well, in fact this time I had plenty of time to spell-check both. Wrote 500+ words on each. The Quant started really bad. The first question was some weirdly confusing word problem that threw me off and it took me about 4 minutes to figure out. I was expecting something much easier to start with. From there on, I felt it was a disaster. I just couldn't calm myself down. At one point I thought I was doing so bad, I figured I should cancel the scores later. Anyway, finished the Quant with 1 sec left. In fact, I had selected the answer to q37 and as I was hitting Next/Confirm time ran out. Not sure if the test counted my last answer. Took the break and tried to compose myself but I already thought it was a losing battle. I started the Verbal with super low confidence. That might have affected my earlier questions. But for some reason they seemed kinda easy to me, and because of that as the section progressed I sort of gained some of my confidence back. On RC in particular I liked all passages and I was pretty confident about my answers there. The last RC passage came at the very end. Finished with 1 minute left. At that point I was very confused - should I cancel or not. I thought the Q was a disaster, but I thought I did better than usual on Verbal. The latter turned out to be incorrect since I was expecting more of a 44+ score. I attribute this to the early questions but I can't be sure. Anyway, I decided not to cancel and here's the result. I am totally bummed. Don't really know what to do now. Except take a break first because I really feel burned out. That last weekend before the test, I spent like 20+ hrs studying/taking tests - that might have been another reason, plus the fact I couldn't sleep the night before the test. But excuses are irrelevant. That won't change my scores or confidence. Hopefully though, it may be a good advice for other people to follow - do not overstudy the days before the exam and make sure you stay calm and get a good night sleep. Also, do not let the outcome of Quant affect your Verbal section concetration.
