HI All,
As of today I have 9+ year of experience and am contemplating if MBA is a good choice. I have read a lot of articles on this and although majority states that it's a bit late and harder to get in a good B-school but I am not been convinced by their explanations. I have started the prep for GMAT but not taken an appointment yet. I'll like to get views from the experts before I take a call.
Brief Background : I am an Indian IT guy with 9+ years of experience. I have a good resume to boasts of but one key thing missing is the "Leadership Title" such as manager,PM,etc.
Have been involved on and off with extra curricular activities such as CRY and AKSHAYA PATRA inn bangalore. Also i have had few international exposures.
Company Details:
Fidelity Investment : 3 years as Software Engineers
Goldman Sachs India: 4 years as Analyst Developer
Amazon India: Since lasst 2 years : Sr. Support Engineer.
Education: BE Computer Science: 3.23/4(CGPA)
I am mostly inclined for European schools as they time away from work is less. Also why I want to do MBA is because I think I have already hit the ceiling in the type of work i do. I want to take my learning and build upon that.
Thanks
Sindbad
Sindbad,
On the contrary an MBA is PERFECT for you. how old are you? 30? Its a biiit on the older side. But if you dont move up and out NOW, it will not happen later. You said it yourself, you hit the ceiling. So now it's time to BUST that ceiling. And yes, an MBA can help you do that. In America, or Europe or Canada, or Asia. But now is the time to move.
Have you taken your GMAT yet?
