Hi,

I am a 28years old IT male with close to 5 years experience in Datawarehousing.

I gave the GMAT on 23rd May at the NTTF center in Bangalore and scored 710 (Q49,V38). My AWA scores are still pending.

My preparation started some around the end of december after i purchased the MGMAT Quant Set. I initially focussed on Quant and by the end of Jan i had completed quant from the MGMAT books and OG12. I then started focussing on CR which was quite a tough cookie actually. i wraped this up by end of Feb.I later had to travel out of town for a month and this severely disrupted my study schedule. i hardly managed to work through the e-gmat lessons during that one month.i returned at the start of April and then revised MGMAT from start till end and began working on the OG12, Verbal and Quant guides slowly.End of April i was still unsure aboutmy skill levels in various areas across quant and verbal. In the first week of May i started with my MGMAT practice tests . These were my scores

MGMAT 1 600
MGMAT 1 730
GMATPREP-1 730
MGMAT 1 690
MGMAT 1 700
MGMAT 1 740
GMATPREP-2 710
MGMAT 1 740

The variation in Quant was from 45-51 whereas in Verbal was from 32-42

My experience has taught me that consistent practice is very essential to figure out timing issues.I believe i started my practice tests too late due to which i was unable to devote sufficient time to fix obvious shortcomings (e.g Time Management , 700-800 questions)

I kind of ran out of time in both sections and ended up scoring less than 40 in verbal which was a big dissapppointment for me. Quant 49 seems more in line with my current Mathh skill level so cant complain though i feel i could get better in Math as since i am after all an engineer ;).Overall i am a bit dissapointed as well as relieved, but am contemplating if i should retake the GMAT since i fell i can do better.

Thanks to everybody for their considerate help.I am grateful to all of you for the support and encouragement.

Cheers
G2
