Question Stats:

0% (00:00) correct 0% (00:00) wrong based on 0 sessions
A business bought r typewriters at $100 each and s calculators for $50 each. what is the total cost of the typewriters and calculators.

(1) the s calculators cost $200
(2) 2r+s = 10

Kaplans answer is B. ( ie. 2 is sufficient )

I think the answer is E ( ie. none sufficient ).

Can anybody clarify?.
2r+s does not give one answer.

Total amount=
100r+50s
=50(2r+s)
=50(10)
=500

Agree with hardworker, sometimes we have to be careful with stems while they provide the answer regardless a simple coefficient...
Same issue for pbs with 2 equations and 2 unknow variables...
