A car travelled 75% of the way from town X to town Y at a constant speed of 50 miles per hour. What average speed was maintained by the car for the remaining journey if the average speed for the entire journey was 40 miles per hour?

A) 25mph
B) 50mph
C) 20mph
D) 37.5mph
E) the data given above is insufficient to calculate the answer

1/(3/(4*50) + 1/(4*x)) = 40

my guess it should be A) 25

0.25/x+0.75/50=1/40
