Missing information.. I have no idea how many games this team plays in one season. The question doesn't tells us that the team has played a certain percentage of game either...

the team has played 20 out of thirty games and has 17W and 3 L
the team needs 3/4W out of 30 games or 23 W
So the team needs 23-17=6 more wins
the the team can afford to lose 4 games at most of the remaining 10
