A certain business printer can print 40 characters per second, which is 4 times as fast as an average printer. If an average printer can print 5 times as fast as an electric typewriter, how many characters per minute can an electric typewriter print?

(D) 120

Answer - D) 120

average printer = 40/4 = 10 char per second = 5 * (x) x = electric typewriter char per sec

x = 2 char per second from above equation

Since the question is asking speed of electric typewriter in char per minute, answer will be 120 char per minute

business printer----- 40/sec
average printer----- 40/4=10/sec
elctric type---------- 10/5=2/sec

so in 1 min =60*2/sec=120 characters

A=5E

A=600p/m
E=120p/m

D is the answer?

type writer = 2 words per sec
= 160 per min.
