D 36

25 mpg in city => 10 miles used 10/25 i.e. 0.4 gallons
40mpg highway => 50 miles used 50/40 i.e. 1.25gallons

Average mpg = Distance/Total fuel used = 60/1.65 = 36.36

No i think 10* 25 + 50_40 / 10 + 50

Thus 2250/60 = 225/6 = 37.5 Approx 38

(D) 36 (To be more precise, 36.363636 mpg)

Total gallons use for 60 mile trip:

10/25 + 50/40 = ... = 33/20 gallons

MPG: 60 miles / (33/20) gallons = 1200/33 = 36.363636
