Also, can we have a wage as$7.5?

am still nt getting this...
the avg can range max from 20,20,20,20,19 = avg 19.9 & min 5,5,5,5,6 = avg 5.2...I see all 3 as a possibility

Yes it is possible. However atleast one wage has to be 5 and other has to be 20. Hence it adheres to range of 5 to 20.

The question has given the range from 5 to 20. Hence atleast one's salary should be 5 and other should be 20. With this you would be able to calculate the min and max range of arithmetic mean and choose the answer.
