A couple of days until GMAT. Should I take Powerprep #2. [#permalink]
04 Sep 2007, 21:45
Hello,
I am only a couple of days away from my appointment. Since time is an issue I was wondering if it would be a good idea to take the second powerprep test.
This is what I have covered, as far as official test prep material is concerned:
All OG questions.
GMAT Prep 1 - 690, 49-35
GMAT Prep 2 - 760, 49-44
Powerprep 1 - 740, 50-41
Every more knowledgeable person on this forums seems to be emphasizing how important GMATPrep and Powerprep are. However, I was rather disappointed with Powerprep 1. The math was rather easy (although I still couldn't get 51) and I had seen many of the verbal questions (although I still couldn't get more than 41). My GMAT Prep #2 experience was similar. While not many of the quant questions were repeats, I was familiar with at least 15 verbal questions, which I think shows in my score. I am not a verbal guru and I will be extremely surprised to get a score even close to that.
So my dilemma is: should I spend time taking Powerprep #2. Quant is way easier and I very much doubt that I will get many verbal questions that I hadn't seen before.
In the 1-2 days that I have left I am planning to review the last 30-40 DS, PS, CR, RC questions from OG (I did SC already), to do some more Sets with essays and to redo GMATPrep 1 & 2 several times just to see how many different questions I can get out of it.
Please let me know what you think.:)
Thanks

Suggest you retake the first 2 GMATPrep tests, plugging in the right answers, to get a feel of the next level of questions.
Powerprep 2 is a good idea - if you have the time.

Majority of the people herw ould suggest you not to take any practice test just 2 days before your real exam. Just work on the mental fitness and get prepared. However if you want to take a practice test then go for GMATprep albeit a repeat.

Agree with trahul. Get some rest... there is not much you can learn or change 2 days before the test

2 days is too big of a break, imo. I am trying to build momentum :) I will probably stop studying by noon on the day before the exam.
thanks for your suggestions though
