+1 A

C, D, and E create clauses, which wouldn't be connected in a correct way. So out.
B doesn't have a right meaning.
In A, we have two adjectives parallel.

Also, I think "will to succeed" and "inspiring to his ..." are parallel

b)inspired [to] doesn't make sense with the rest of the sentence.
c)inspires - changes the meaning
d)is inspiring - not parallel
e)he inspired - awkward and not parallel

What is the OA? I am still not sure about this one.

+1 for A.

"and" is being used as a comparator. The first thing to check immediately is that the entities that are being compared are parallel( apples with apples; oranges with oranges). A compares noun phrases (will to suceed) with another noun phrase (inspiring to his).

This is just a test of // ism of participles in a two-part appositive modifier involving driven and inspiring; Driven is a past participle and inspiring is a present participle. I do not think any thing is being compared with any thing here

B. inspired to fans – inspire x is the right idiom in the active voice, inspired to x is unidiomatic
C – Same as in B: in addition inspire and driven are un//.
D. un//
E. he inspired and driven –un//.

A is the choice

Good Explanation daagh.

Does it mean that appositive modifiers can use present and past participles together and still make the sentence parallel?

+ 1 for A. This is a classic case of faulty parallelism.

I got wrong, C instead of A. Miss the word "inspiring" is the adjective in present participle form.

Strike 1=> Parallelism => d, e out
Strike 2 => participle form for parallelism => c out
Strike 3 => not past tense => b out

hence A
