+1 A C, D, and E create clauses, which wouldn't be connected in a correct way. So out. B doesn't have a right meaning. In A, we have two adjectives parallel.

Also, I think "will to succeed" and "inspiring to his ..." are parallel
b)inspired [to] doesn't make sense with the rest of the sentence. c)inspires - changes the meaning d)is inspiring - not parallel e)he inspired - awkward and not parallel
What is the OA? I am still not sure about this one.

+1 for A.
"and" is being used as a comparator. The first thing to check immediately is that the entities that are being compared are parallel( apples with apples; oranges with oranges). A compares noun phrases (will to suceed) with another noun phrase (inspiring to his).

Good Explanation daagh. Does it mean that appositive modifiers can use present and past participles together and still make the sentence parallel?

+ 1 for A. This is a classic case of faulty parallelism.

I got wrong, C instead of A. Miss the word "inspiring" is the adjective in present participle form.
