how m i solving it..m unable to get the ans :D

i did like this..where m i wrong??

First I consider , least value of first 2 homes which is 150,000..and least value of last two homes 500,000..

150,000+150,000+300000+500000+500000=1600,000

then I have taken max value of first two houses. 250,000, and max value of last two houses, which 750,000...

250,000+250,000+300,000+750,000+750,000=2300,000

1600,000*.05=80,000

2300,000*.05=115,000

1150000-80,000=35000..

i got 35000 ans..bt not any option given..

Let the first house be sold for 150,000.
Let the 5th house be sold for 750,000.

Difference is 600000
5% of 600000 is 30000 = 570000

Hi, you are almost OK. However, the range is for the total revenue, not for the discounts.

(In the example above, I will simplify to smaller numbers)

(1) 2(150)+300+2(500) = 1600
1600*0.95=1520 (Revenue considering the minimum values with the discount)

(2) 2(250)+300+2(750) = 2300 (Revenue considering the maximum values without the discount)

So, the the revenue range could be = 2300 - 1520 = 780 (Answ E)

R u sure?? its E?
what i think to get maximum range..we should make another mean 2300 should be taken minimum.

Sorry but why didn t you deducted from the 2300 the 115???
Thus the range is 665,000.
The answer is def not E
