"The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" is singular

A. A letter by Mark Twain, written in the same year as The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn were published,

B. A letter by Mark Twain, written in the same year of publication as The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,

C. A letter by Mark Twain, written in the same year that The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn was published,

D. Mark Twain wrote a letter in the same year as he published The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn that

E. Mark Twain wrote a letter in the same year of publication as The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn that

From B and C, I would go with B just because it is usign the simple tense

B and C are close ones for me.

Ultimately, I went with B.

Clearly C
B is wrong.. because comparing " same year of publication " with "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn"
not a proper comparision.

C seems to be correct.
We are talking in present for the action of past.
"The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" is singular so "was" will be qualified here

D,E suggests that .. "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" reveals that "Twain provided.."
actually Letter Written by letter by Mark Twain reveals ...

"The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn that" reveals that Twain provided financial assistance to one of the first Black students at Yale Law School.

D,E distorts the original meaning.

Suresh - you said the comparison is incorrect - how should the sentence be written to be correct?

Don - what's the OA.

Thx.
