A Mathematics test consists of 20 multiple-choice questions. A correct answer is awarded 3 marks and one mark is deducted for every wrong answers. No marks are awarded or deducted for questions not attempted. A boy attempted a total of 19 questions and his total score for the test was above 32. Find the minimum number of correct answers he obtained

1. 16
2. 14
3. 20
4. 17
5. 13

Gives you two equations:

C+W=19
2C-1W=32

=> D.17

i will go for E. 13

For minimum correct answers, go for plugging the answers

i chose 13 since it is the least number in the list.

13 * 3 - 6 = 33 which is above 32

so Ans 13

3n - (19-n) > 32
n > 12.525

so the possible minimum value of n has to be 13.

E = 13

x = number of wrong questions
19*3 - 4x = 33(Since the question asks for minimum number above >32)
4x = 24, x = 6
