C is best
original sentence extends the use of "caring" to children AND housework. You don't care for housework, you just do it
B is not a proper description of a survey data. There could be an increase at a specific task but not at a indefinite task such as caring. You cannot be spending more hours caring for someone, but you can be more caring of someone.
C extends the use of "doing" to housework AND child care and is most concise

I will go with B on this one.

The two pieces around "and" are not similar. "doing house work" is not a noun but "child care" is a noun

B is ok because

"doing house work" is parallel to "caring for children"

I think you are right. "doing" child care is not idiomatic. You can do babysitting but not childcare
