A pen-pencil set costs $12, the same as when the items are purchased individually. If a pen costs $11 more than a pencil what is the cost of a pencil?

Lex X be the cost of a pencil, then X+11 is the cost of a pen.
Combine the variable into an equation - X+X+11=12
X=0,5
